Sure, we add chemicals to the pool and hope for the best.  However, knowing the ins and outs of what makes up water is very important on several levels.  Water balance are water fundamentals that every body of water needs to abide by or else, the pool and equipment will crud out, water quality will be poor.   Dry and itchy skin?  You bet!  That is unless you learn about and what to do with water balance.
